The Spanish Language Center was established in 1986 by Luz Hutchins as a continuation of her lifelong education career, which began in Mexico as an elementary school teacher. For nearly four decades, the school has been the premier destination for adult professionals in San Diego who need real, functional Spanish.

The school tailors its instruction to the particular requirements of each student — whether a lawyer preparing for Mexican court, a doctor communicating with patients, or a professional wanting to connect with Spanish-speaking colleagues. SLC has developed a unique interactive-visual method of teaching which enables students to achieve their goals faster than any app or generic tutoring service.
